Respect, Admiration & Amazement

There are some pretty incredible people in my life. Every day I’m amazed, in a good way, by the things these folks are doing.

First there’s Meghan who I met in grad school. She and her husband are currently in China as they complete the adoption process of not one, but two beautiful boys who need a loving home. And knowing Meghan these boys will not be without love!

Then there’s my friend Lynda who is a Peace Corps Volunteer in Vanuatu. The work she is doing there with health education, as well as helping establish a tourist area on her island is unbelievable. I’m in awe of her and eagerly watch for her blog posts on what’s happening.

And there’s Dinesha. I met Dinesha while visiting Lynda in Vanuatu. I was immediately drawn to her without really knowing why. Then I learned she was traveling the world. Solo. I’ve enjoyed watching her travels and her experiences.

I have many friends that do some pretty awesome things day to day and many who struggle but like me don’t want to ask for help but are equally awesome.

My respect and admiration for all of these people is undeniable. Who is in your life like this that you respect and admire?

About alicrain

Wanderlust. Adventurer. Mom. Mentor. Change Agent. Crazy. Servant Leader. Citizen of the World These are all words that describe me - or have been used to describe me. There are many more but we won't get in to those. What is important to know is that at the age of 45, after having a successful career and raising a son, I decided I needed a new challenge and adventure in my life. So I joined the Peace Corps. Portions of this blog were written before this time and chronicle my life during graduate school (again, something I did in my 40s). During my service in Morocco (September 2016 - December 2018) I chronicled my daily life and all it entailed to live as an American female in another country. this is a place for me to capture random thoughts and share my life's journey
